Help finding a cheap car rental please.. coupons?
Question by mandyf27: Help finding a cheap car rental please.. coupons?
Hey everyoe,
Is anyone free to hunt down a good deal for me? I am trying to rent a car tomorrow (thursday May, 17th) at 3pm from Dulles International airport to go see mother in NJ (she is having emergency surgery so i have to take care of her and her house). I have to be back by Sunday night for work and can return the car to the same airport. I am at work right now so cant get on some websites. I know there are good deals out there but am unable to look. Any help would be much appreciated! Can you find me the cheapest rental cost? I dont care what kind of car it is. Thanks in advance to anyone that has the time for this.

Car Rental Tip #3 – Rental Insurance
travelwishtv.com Most renters know to decline the insurance and then are often swayed at the last second by a salesperson pressuring them that the insurance will actually save you money. When renting a car, you’ll be offered a collision damage waiver (CDW) and a loss damage waiver (LDW). The first covers you in the event of a collision, while the second covers any loss to the rental company. Both kinds of coverage are a good idea, but not if they duplicate coverage already included in your own insurance policy. Most insurance policies offer liability coverage to protect you if you injure someone in an accident; some also cover rental-car damage via comprehensive and collision coverage. Check your policy or call your insurance agent to verify coverage before signing up for a vehicle. If you’re renting the car with a credit card, your card provider even cover damage to the vehicle in result off a collision. Again, check with your card company ahead of time to make sure. Accident in a rental car?
Question by The Silent Ninja: Accident in a rental car?
On Friday I was in an accident in my own car. That same day I got a rental car so that I could go back and forth to work. Yesterday (Sunday) I was hit in the rental car on my way to work at the mall. Another driver came into my lane and hit the driver’s side of the car. It was actually a bit of a fiasco, because even though the guy knew he hit me, he kept on going and I had to follow him around the mall until he finally parked and had the nerve to tell me to “f*** off” and went inside the mall. Of course I called the cops and when they arrived, we waited until the guy decided to come out. I overheard the cops tell the guy that he could have been arrested – I’m assuming for hit and run.
Anyway, I live in Florida and the cop said that since it’s a “no-fault” state, they don’t write in their reports who is responsible or at fault in the accident. They simply take each driver’s side of the story and write it down in the report, then it’s up to the insurance companies to decide who the at fault party is. I did not get the extra insurance on the rental car, which I’m now kicking myself in the you-know-what for.
The accident was very minor. On the rental car, half the damage were just rubber marks that came off when I rubbed it with a cloth. However, on the trim pieces there were some scrapes that were down to the metal that will definitely need to be painted. There were no dents. On the car that hit me, his bumper was scraped up a bit. Most will probably buff out and he might need a little bit of paint work too.
Since I had to go to work immediately after I left, my mom was nice enough to file a claim with his insurance company for me. I’m still waiting for the adjuster to call me and ask me about my side of the story. However, when I went to go sign some documents for my own car that’s in the shop and I had the guy (who is a family friend) who’s fixing my Mazda look at the rental car. He told me, “don’t worry about it”. I’m assuming that means it won’t be that bad to fix or that he can fix it pretty cheap for me.
My question is, since the claim has already been filed, do I have to wait for his insurance company to come back and say they’ll fix it? Or am I ok to have the rental car fixed on my own? My mom called enterprise anonymously and asked what they would do to fix it and enterprise said that I would have to pay them my deductible (which is $ 1000) and they would fix the car. Whatever is left over after the car is fixed they would give back to me. I’m sure they’d find a way to do it in the most expensive way possible, so I’m trying to avoid that route if I can. This is my first time dealing with something like this, so I have no idea what to expect. I’m half tempted to just start taking the bus, lol.
Any suggestions, advice, or stores would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Rental Car – self insurance?
Question by Daniel: Rental Car – self insurance?
My 11 year old car is on its last legs and has no heat and bad brakes. My credit is bad, i can’t get a new car, dont have the money immediately available to get a used car, so i have decided to rent a nice car from enterprise on a long-term (monthly) rental. Not the cheapest option but in the end, it’s the best option for me for several reasons.
My question is – their insurance (LDW) is expensive. the daily insurance rates on it total to about $ 30. While i can “afford it”, i would much rather carry my own insurance. I have found plenty of information on non-owner liability – but is there any way to cover the Loss damage (AKA Full Coverage) with insurance i buy specifically to cover a rental car?
I do not have a credit card, so unfortunately that’s not an option.

A non owner policy pays if you do not own a car that you drive and in this case, would apply, since Enterprise owns the car. But most likely to get a short term policy for say one month maybe impossible to get, since most policies are for 6 months.
Also, another consideration is the Enterprise car. Liability only pays for other car damages that are the result of your negligence. You also need collision/comprehensive coverage for the rental car, since if the rental car is in an accident, you would be on the hook for the rental car damages which could be expensive.
My suggestion is to get the brakes and heat fixed on your current car. My guess is that the cost to fix maybe the same as the rental for one month. Then try and put away a few dollars every paycheck towards buying another car in say 6 months or so. If you can afford the $ 30 a day for the full coverage with Enterprise, put that away towards a down payment on another car and get this one fixed.
good luck

Maui, Hawaii: cheap car rental for 21-24 year olds?
Question by Jenny Hirsh: Maui, Hawaii: cheap car rental for 21-24 year olds?
Do you know of any car rental companies in Maui that do not charge additional fees for being under 25? What about really cheap car rental companies in Maui (that still have good service) in general?
Best answer:
Answer by Harmon Cooper
I think they don’t charge any extra fee for being under age. They just have one rule, either allow you to rent the car or not. When talking about cheap car rental companies, this http://www.switzerlandcarsrental.com company comes into my mind. It is a good car rental service company in Switzerland but you don’t worry as it also provides services for global regions. You can refer them for your required service.
